Truong Son National Cemetery

Location: Cemetery was built at Ben Tat hill in Vinh Truong ward, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province about 38 km from Dong Ha town on the northwest and 80 km from Hue city.

 Feature: This is the largest national martyrs cemetery gathering grave of volunteer youth, soliders..people who built up and fight for protecting the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail during America war.
 
Built from 24 October 1975 and finished on 10 April 1977, Truong Son National Cemetery has the total area is 106 ha, 46 ha is home to 10.327 graves divided to five areas. The central area lies on a hill that is 32. 4 m high where a empty white stone monument was erected. This monument lacks three sides expressing the great loss. The four areas was arranged by province, city spreading in five hills. The lines of grave is interspersed among the woods. The walkaway was paved by brick , stone or coated with cement  and planted with flowers on two sides. Each area has memorial house with the characteristic architecture of rustic village. The cemetery welcomes about 20.000 visitor each year, many foreigners cross thousands km to here.
