“Nice day”

This review is not about a day trip but they also organise packs outside the river. We were doing it through our agency Asiatica travel. First a visit in the town by bycicle, then a foot massage and finally a nice lunch. It was a good experience.

“It doesn't get any better than this”

We were taken from our hotel at Ha noi to Halon Bay where we joined a cruise. The "junk" as they called it, was 5* plus. The welcome, the crew, the atmosphere, the food, the rooms, the activities, every thing I can think of was spectacular. There are not enough words I can think of to praise this entire night cruising on Halon Bay. Peaceful, is one. The ship is well appointed, with extraordinary food and friendly crew. Sitting on the out door top deck, or in the dining room, or even through your balcony window, soaking up the view, was so relaxing and peaceful. If you are considering spending the night on one of the boats at Halon Bay, I would definitely recommend "Emotion" . Don't think about it any more, just do it!

“Rustic and authentic”

Our agent, Asiatica Travel, booked this cruise as part of our trip in Vietnam. The boat is nice looking and quite well equipped with hot water, comfortable mattress and air conditioner. We cruised downstream the river to some little villages where people all welcoming and sweet. We were told about their life, traditional handicraft techniques and even tried our hands to create folk paintings and making scents. Hue is much bigger than we thought and compared to it's splendid royal citadel, the untouched rural landscape and life was no less beautiful. Atruly Hue Emotion!

“Give it a go and you will not regret!”

The Perfume River Emotion as part of our trip in Vietnam. Along the river, it has quite a few to see: Thien Mu Pagoda, local markets and ancient temples. The scenery remained almost the same from village to village, but I just loved being on water with cool morning breeze. We also took a cooking class in the evening: carving fruit, making Hue salads and rolling spring rolls, great fun to learn about Hue vegetables and herbs. The overnight onboard was quite special as I haven't slept with symphony of crickets and frogs elsewhere before. Overall, it is a worth the trip to study about Hue nature and truly be a part of local life.

“Include this cruise in your trip to Vietnam”

We had two days for Hue and my wife did not want to spend all our time with citadel, tombs and ruins. We wanted something different and found the website of this charming cruise tour on Perfume River. Their boat (actually a sampan with four private, air-con cabins) was lovely and comfortable. It also carried bikes and half of the cruise, we disembarked to cycle on the backroads of Hue. This was the best part and a fantastic chance to get to know about Hue and local daily life. We saw no other tourists but local children with their excitingly loud "hello" and aged women in wet market welcoming us with generous smiles. The colors, smells and sights were all rustic, earthy and typical of rural Vietnam, contrasting to the extravagance of Hue imperial life just few miles away. But if I were to choose. I'd rather live in the villages than in Hue royal city. A relaxed, peaceful and worry-free life here, something we couldn't find in other places of Vietnam, which have been totally transformed by modernization.

“That is the most interesting cruise”

We joined the cruise with two children, The tour was very interesting and relaxing with the biking and walking. We was surprised by the pleasant massage. We really love the cooking class and our children love it too because they can do it like adults. We did dishes by ourselves and it was a little bit difficult but we handled it well! The chief was very helpful and funny. Hope we can do it when back to home. The day after, we woke up early to admire the dawn on river. It was beautiful scene. Thank to all the crew.

Despite the rain we had a very pleasant stay on the Perfume River, visiting interesting sites: local temples, communal house, incense making family. We did enjoy the cooking class with the helpful and dynamic teacher. The boat is nice and we slept well. Thanks to the ship´s crew for their kindness.

“Thanks for stunning trip”

Our cruise was fantastic with the very thoughtful crew and tour guide. We were impressed by the rustic nature of Hue’s village and took a lot of photos. In cooking class we found out that it is not difficult to make Hue specialties and definitely try it when we come back home. The foot massage was pleasant and we feel like we participate in responsible travel when knowing that the staffs are from the Hue association of the blind people.
